OPENER Gordon Whorlow is set to make his full debut for the Dorset senior set-up when they make the trip to Cornwall in the Unicorns Knockout Trophy tomorrow (11am).

Tom Arnold misses out through work commitments for Chris Park’s side this weekend, meaning Whorlow, who is the skipper of North Perrott Cricket Club, comes in after scoring his first Dorset century for the Leopards side last weekend, against the Dorset League representative XI.

And, having played in that game, for the Leopards, Park insists it was a “very easy decision” to call up the batsman for his debut.

Asked about Whorlow’s inclusion for the clash at Grampound Road, Park replied: “He batted lovely last weekend, hence he gets his chance to make his full debut.

“When Tommy told us he had work commitments it was a very easy decision to go straight to Gordon really. I was very impressed.”

Ryan Scott misses out for Dorset this weekend and is replaced by Somerset professional Max Waller.
