DORCHESTER Town will today capture the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur academy player Nathan Peprah-Annan.

Peprah, born in Ghana, is expected to put pen-to-paper this afternoon to join the Magpies following his departure from Kettering Town.

The 19-year-old is director of football Shaun Brooks' sixth signing in as many days as the Magpies look to build their squad ahead of the forthcoming Blue Square South campaign.

The young centre-half, who can also play at right-back, trained with the county town side at their Chapel Gate training ground in Bournemouth yesterday and is expected to sign a contract today after he and the club agreed terms.

Peprah-Annan made 18 appearances for Spurs' under-17s in 2003/04 before an injury-hit season. The defender has also been capped by England's under-16 side, playing alongside the likes of Micah Richards and Theo Walcott.

Last season ended in heartbreak for Peprah after he missed a penalty for Kettering in their Conference North play-off match against Farsley Celtic.

No doubt the youngster, who has also played for Leyton Orient, will be eager for a fresh start at Dorchester. Brooks is delighted with the capture, he said: "I'll be so pleased to get him on board. He's a good-sized player, aggressive, a good athlete, and he is a good technical player as well.

"Being at a club like Spurs shows that he has good all-round ability."

The county town side have also secured the services of current Magpies Mark Jermyn and Matt Groves who have both signed one-year part-time deals.

The new deal sees Groves enter his 10th season at the Avenue Stadium. The striker, who is still only 27, was tipped for a move away from the Magpies at the end of last season having only bagged nine goals in 47 appearances.

But the ex-Portsmouth trainee, who has netted more than 130 goals for the club in his nine years, remains a Magpie as the club enters a new era under Brooks.

The contract extension of Jermyn, who has made 317 appearances, will certainly please the Avenue Stadium faithful. Last season he became the first player to win the club's on-line player of the season award for the second time. During his time at Dorchester Jermyn has played in a number of positions including full back, centre half and more recently as a defensive midfielder.

The Magpies' squad for the new season consists of eight part-time players and seven on full-time contracts.

They are: Simon Evans, Jamie Cumming (full-time), Ryan Hill, Roy O'Brien (full-time), Alex Browne, Scott Morgan, Terry Parker, Mark Jermyn, Jamie Gleeson (full-time), James Rowe, Charlie Henry (full-time), Mitchell Nicholson (full-time), Tom Mitchell (full-time) and Matt Groves.
