DORCHESTER SECONDS 63 (0pt) lost to BEAMINSTER Beaminster 64-1 (20pts) by nine wickets

BEAMINSTER completed their eighth win in a row after a comprehensive nine-wicket victory against local rivals Dorchester Seconds in County Division Three.

After winning the toss all of the Beaminster bowlers took wickets as the county town side were skittled out for just 63 in 32 overs.

Opening bowlers Dave Persey and Nick Hollely both took wickets in their opening spells before Ross Baker (3-10 from nine overs) and Simon Jones (2-8 from seven) continued to apply pressure by giving the batsmen nothing to hit.

Dorchester failed to build any significant partnerships as wickets continued to fall when Will Moss (2-2-10) was introduced and Dave Persey (2-21) returned to take the final wicket.

The fielding was superb throughout particularly a diving catch from Chris Park.

Although Beaminster lost a wicket in the first over, Ross Baker (35no) and Simon Jones (21no) shared a 60-run unbeaten partnership to win the game in style.

Beaminster have now moved into second place in the table and face Hamworthy Seconds away this week.
