WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley spoke of his “relief” as the Terras hit back late on to secure a 3-2 victory over Basingstoke Town.

Two goals in the final six minutes from Calvin Brooks and Brandon Goodship sealed a deserved three points for the hosts, who survived a glorious last-gasp chance for Sam Deadfield.

Molesley, who sees his side rise a place to ninth in the league, told Echosport he was “delighted” with the victory.

He said: “I’m delighted with the result, there was a bit of relief and we rode our luck a little bit at the end. There’s some real good bits out there, loads of positives.

“The character, we showed that against Stratford and Bishop’s Stortford – this group don’t know when to give up.

“I applaud the lads’ character and determination and never-say-die attitude.

Molesley added that the triumph earned his side a “valuable” three points.

“Fair play to the boys for digging in and getting a very valuable three points. It was important that we bounced back.

“My heart was in my mouth a few times but I was pleased to see some key attributes out there,” he said.

And Molesley felt Goodship’s penalty, having missed a spot-kick in the 2-0 defeat to Hereford, “typified” the squad’s character.

“That typified the character in the squad. For Brandon to step up in the last minute and take a penalty after missing one at the weekend just shows his character and belief,” he said.
