WEYMOUTH all-rounder Dan Belt is a major doubt for his side's Dorset Funeral Plan League Premier Division trip to the Suttoners tomorrow (1.30pm).

The talented youngster has injured his right hand and there are fears that he might have chipped a bone.

Seasiders' skipper Dean Janaway said: "Dan got a knock on his right index finger and he is doubtful for tomorrow. We will know more over the next 24 hours but hopefully he will be okay."

One piece of good news for Weymouth is that Dave Pearce is finally ready to return after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Janaway added: "Dave will definitely play tomorrow and he will come in for Ben Doidge. Brett Mugridge will also continue after bowling a really promising spell last Saturday in our defeat against Parley.

"Brett came in for Michael Pearce, whose wife is expecting. She is due at anytime so the last place Michael needs to be is Bournemouth."

The loss against Parley brought to an end a five-game winning streak for the Seasiders but Janaway is confident his men can immediately bounce back to form.

He said: "We just did not put enough runs on the board last Saturday. If you bat first at Dean Park you have got to be looking to put on at least 250 to put pressure on your opponents in the field. We fell short of that target and their class player Raj Naik batted superbly and knocked them off.

"We need to learn from that and the fact that we are returning to Dean Park tomorrow means we have the chance to put things right straight away.

"They hammered us at home by nine wickets earlier in the season and they have a good batting line-up but we are still confident."

Chris Insall is Suttoners' biggest threat. He scored 123 at Redlands on May 19, sharing a massive second- wicket stand of 218 with Sean Humphrey (78).

Weymouth: Ryall, Janaway, England, Payne, D Pearce, Steadman, Belt, Whyte, M Lawes, Mugridge, Trotter.

Weymouth Seconds will be looking to build on last Saturday's victory over top-of-the-league Shroton when they entertain Witchampton at Redlands tomorrow (2pm).

The Seasiders are still third in Division Two of the Dorset Funeral Plan League and require a sustained run of good form if they are to stand a chance of overhauling the two teams above them to capture the title.

Weymouth skipper Steve Budd said: "We have to keep winning. It is very close at the top and we need to put in a good run of form and carry on from where we left off last Saturday."

Dan Belt's injury could see Rob Nobbs promoted to first-team duty. If he is elevated Neil Walton will get a chance for the seconds.

Weymouth Seconds (from): Lamb, Jarvis, Doidge, Fulton, Armfield, Budd, Walton, C Lawes, Hutchens, Voss, M Pearce, Nobbs.
