WEYMOUTH Rowing Club is searching for new youth members, especially those aged 14 years and under, for the upcoming spring/summer regatta season.

A club spokesman said: "We have four Cornish gigs, plus training gig and safety boat, you will often see us out in the bay or the harbour, in our six person green and yellow gigs, enjoying all weathers.

"Rowing is a real fun team sport, that is great for all round fitness and for all ages.

"We are always looking to welcome new members and at the moment, we are searching for new youth rowers to join our club.

"Our youth rowers, currently train every Saturday 11.15am-12.30pm, your first session is free and you will be helped by experienced rowers.

"Our junior rowing is open to anyone between the age of 11 and 16-years-old and a yearly member for under-16s is currently only £15.

"Life jackets are provided for all youth rowers.

"General rowing technique is taught in all of our training sessions.

"All our junior sessions are manned by experienced rowers and we have a safety boat for open water rowing."

There are a lot of opportunities for juniors to progress within the club.

Some of our members have joined our adult crews and compete for the club in the World Championships others enjoy the social rowing.

"One of our members is now captain of mixed rowing for the club.

"Our boat shed can be found harbour side on the Nothe side."
