JORDAN Ngalo enjoyed a dream finish as he scored his first goal for Weymouth in added on time during the 3-1 win over St Neots Town on Saturday in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

After the midfielder came on for Charlie Davis in the 81st minute he ended the match with a patient build-up on the edge of the box before picking out the top right-hand corner of the net.

Speaking about how it felt to end the match that way, Ngalo said: “It could not have been any better, for me.

“It is kind of good to score a goal for a team at this level because it has been a big transition to go from Wessex League to Southern League because that is a two-league jump so it is good to get going finally.

His initial shot had been blocked by a defender but the rebound fell to him and he finished with aplomb.

Ngalo explained: “I thought I had missed my chance when I took the first touch and I thought I’d give it a second go with the left foot.

“It did not quite go my way and I thought I can see the corner so I curled it in.

Ngalo signed solely for the Terras on January 6 having previously been on dual registration forms with Weymouth and Blackfield & Langley, where he made 26 appearances for

the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division outfit.

He went on to play 90 minutes of Weymouth’s 1-0 BigFreeBet.com Cup defeat to Larkhall Athletic the Tuesday after he signed exclusively for Weymouth and had made appearances against Redditch United and Gosport while on dual registration forms.

When asked how he felt when the ball nestled in the net, he said: “I just jumped and turned around. I was so buzzing because I was not expecting myself to do that kind of finish, then again I practice in training and it comes out in games.”

When asked about how has he found his time at Weymouth so far he said: “It has been very good actually, I feel like I am improving as a player and obviously joining a team of quality level has also helped me improve.

“They have been very helpful on the training ground and pushing me to do my best every time I step on the pitch. I might not start but you have to understand this is a very strong team and they are winning games so I do not expect myself to come in and start playing every game.

“For the games that I have come on for I feel like I have done good for the minutes that I am getting and I feel like I am improving every game every week.

The 18 year old made his Weymouth debut off the bench in December when he came in for Josh Carmichael in the 76th minute of a 5-0 thrashing of Redditch United.

Weymouth manager Mark Molesley was full of praise for how he has done since signing.

Molesley said: “I am delighted for him and he has bags of potential and he is working hard at the moment and I am sure he will be a very big player for Weymouth.

“I think it is just what he needed, we have had a couple of issues getting him out on the pitch so far but that is all behind him now and he is training hard and he has got an opportunity and he has taken it.

“For such a young lad he is strong he is quick he is good on the ball. He has got all the attributes it is just bringing them out of him.

“I am sure he is going to grow and flourish into a fantastic footballer.”

The Terras are next in action when they are at home against Royston Town on Saturday.
