DORCHESTER Sports manager Ashley James was delighted with Jamie Symes as he scored a hat-trick against Parley Sports for the second time this season on Saturday.
The goals helped secure a 3-2 win against Parley in the county town side’s first league match of the year.
James said: “He has done well against Parley this year. It is hard enough to score hat-tricks up front but doing them from central midfield is very special.”
It was an eventful game which saw his first goal gave Sports the lead for 1-0 in the 10th minute with a great left-footed shot after a clever flick from Gareth Wills.
Parley came back with two goals in two minutes from Jack Voisey but Symes’ second goal equalised for Dorchester at 2-2 while he wrapped up his hat-trick with what proved to be the winner in the 65th minute.
James added: “He is arriving late in the box and I do not think they are managing to pick him up and I think it is working pretty well and he is getting into good areas and putting the ball away. He is on a good scoring run at the moment and we need him to keep doing that.
“He was fantastic on Saturday but as a whole team with a few players missing we rallied around and got behind each other.”
His first hat-trick against Parley this season came in November during the second half as Dorchester rallied from 2-0 down after 47 minutes to win 4-3.
