WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley was pleased to see his side returning to form during their 2-0 defeat to League Two side Exeter City at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Goals from Tristan Abrahams and Matt Jay sent Weymouth to defeat, but the Terras had good chances through Ben Thomson and Brandon Goodship, while Warren Bentley enjoyed a lively debut.

Molesley said: “We looked a lot more like our old selves out there, the first game of pre-season there were a lot of changes.

“We are starting to get our physical fitness back, we are starting to get our technical and our tactical side slowly coming out now.”

Molesley praised Bentley, who made his debut for the Terras, for his performance before he was replaced by Josh Wakefield at half-time.

Molesley said: “Woz got his first start and I thought he looked lively, he linked up really well with Thommo (Ben Thomson) and Brandon (Goodship) so that is quite exciting.

“Obviously with Bakes (Harry Baker) coming on as well we have got an exciting attacking force there.

“A lot of the lads went 60 minutes so it is a step up in fitness against a real good quality outfit, I think we more than matched them.”

n Weymouth travel to Hamworthy United tomorrow (3pm).
