ST GEORGE’S rounded off their successful season with another win after ending their season with an eight-wicket victory over Cattistock in the Read Woodruff Dorchester & District Evening League.

Colin Gough hit 38 not out and alongside Matt Randell’s 36 were enough for success despite Billy Wallbridge hitting 39 for Cattistock.

Wallbridge was on form as he proceeded to hit 53 against Bere Regis, while Liam Toohill’s 3-13 plus two wickets each for Ollie and Jon Legg gave Cattistock a win by 46 runs.

Plush failed in their bid to escape relegation after they fell 14 runs short against Puddletown.

Adam Barrett starred for Puddletown with 49 and three stumpings as Rob Snow took four wickets, leaving Plush with a return to Division Two next year.

Division Two’s relegation slot was decided as Abbotsbury beat Cattistock Seconds.

John Elliott with 3-22 kept Cattistock in check until Ben Golledge’s rapid 34 set a target of 109.

Bradley Mullins’ two early wickets gave Cattistock hope, but Will McKay with 51 and Kieran Womble’s 34 saw Abbotsbury home with comfort. Cattistock did pull off a consolation victory against Cosmos, as Colin Mullins’ 57 not out helped them to 116 despite Shafeek Urumancheri’s 3-12.

All Cosmos bowlers took wickets, Golledge being the pick with 3-15 as Cosmos fell 18 runs short.

Cosmos also went down to Hazelbury Bryan in a seven-wicket loss.

They were going well until Duncan Macbean was run out for a quick 33, but their total of 96 proved no trouble for Hazelbury to pass.

Dewlish polished off their promotion season with another win, Alex Healey with 54 not out helping Cerne Valley to 121, but Quenton Miller bettered him with 56 not out, steering Dewlish home by five wickets.

Puddletown Rugby Club pulled off two good wins in Division Three.

Puddletown scored a creditable 152, but by scoring at 10 an over, the rugby club passed this with the loss of only one wicket.

Frampton also scored well against the rugby club, Phil Horne’s unbeaten 55 helping them to 147-4 but again, Puddletown Rugby Club’s batsmen were equal to the task, T Atkinson with 56 not out and C Ricketts’ unbeaten 37 ensuring a seven-wicket victory.

With the league still to catch up on results it means that the leagues have only one issue to decide: whether Dorchester Casuals complete the season with a 100 per cent record in Division Three.
