DORCHESTER Cricket Club’s Casuals sealed a hugely impressive record of having won every one of their league games in Division Three of the Read Woodruff Dorchester & District Evening League.

As a result, the Casuals move up into Division Two for next season

Elsewhere, St George’s did the league and cup double which they last achieved in 2014 and Dewlish return to the top division at their first attempt.

Subject to confirmation, the batsman with most runs this season was Jim Ross of Puddletown Rugby Club with 488.

The highest score in one innings went to Nick Voss of Charlton Down for his 95 not out and the person with most sixes was Lucas Allen with 20 for Puddletown.

As for the bowlers, the best performance was Sean Walbridge’s 6-21 for St George’s including his remarkable double hat-trick, while the most successful bowler overall with 26 wickets was Ollie Legg from Cattistock.

Another St George’s accolade went to wicketkeeper Brian Keegan with 14 victims, including an impressive six stumpings.

Finally, the fielder with most outfield catches was Andy Legg with seven for Plush.

A league spokesman said: “The thanks of the league are due to all players who took part this season, to all captains, groundsmen, scorers and others who got the games on and perhaps especially to all umpires for volunteering their time and expertise.

“Congratulations are due to every team as every side won at least two games.”
