JON Emmett, a member of Castle Cove Sailing Club, has had a busy sailing year thus far.
He is currently coaching the 2018 Olympic classes World Championship (Radial Women).
Previously, as a coach he was in France in Hyeres for World Cup competitions, La Rochelle for the Radial Europeans and then Marseille for the World Cup final.
More recently, as a competitor, Emmett has sailed in Kiel, Germany, where he was the highest-placed British competitor in the World Laser Radials championships.
He finished in overall 14th position in a nine-match series of races.
There were 92 starters and he said: “I was pleased with my overall performance in this very international field.
"High winds made the going tricky at times and the winner, Zac Littlewood from Austria, was a worthy champion.”
Emmett then finished second in the Laser Performance UKLA National and Open Laser Championships held in Plymouth in July.
There were 85 entries to this competition and the championships were decided by nine races.
The clear winner was Georgina Povall from Hickling, Norfolk.
