WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley is hoping the Bob Lucas Stadium crowd will come out in force as league action returns to the Bob Lucas Stadium tonight (7.45) with Taunton Town visiting the Terras in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.

Weymouth got their league campaign off to a perfect start on Saturday, with a Brandon Goodship hat-trick sealing three points away at Harrow Borough.

Molesley said: “I hope the crowd come out to see us, because Taunton will be up there come the end of the season. I think they will be one of the strong outfits in our league.”

The Peacocks had a fantastic start to their league campaign, swatting aside Staines Town 4-0 with goals from Craig Veal, Matt Buse, Dan Sullivan and Rocky Neal.

Taunton earned promotion to the league after a fantastic year last season.

They won their league by 19 points and went unbeaten on the road in all competitions while they suffered just one defeat in the league.

Molesley said: “It looks like they have recorded a good home win and they have had two seasons of winning, winning, winning so they are a confident, big, strong outfit so it is going to be a big tough challenge again.

“But one that, with us at home I feel that if we perform to our best we can give anyone a game in this league, so one we are looking forward to.”

Weymouth’s win away at Harrow is one of the longer journeys that they will face this season and Molesley admits it felt strange in that regard, which is due to the extensive league restructuring that happened over the summer.

“I think it is probably quite strange because they do not feel that far away from last season’s travel so that is a real positive this year is that the travel is going to be less demanding.

“But like I said the league is just as challenging with more derbies and I think that makes it just as difficult,” he said.

Josh Wakefield returned early from a hand injury to make the bench on Saturday but Jordan Ngalo is a doubt for the match and Stephane Zubar is a doubt with an injury to his hip and back.

Warren Bentley will be absent to due a pre-arranged commitment but will be back around the squad after the match.

Speaking of Zubar, Molesley said: “He has got a bit of a hip and back issue but he is seeing the right people and hopefully we will be able to clear that up sooner rather than later.”

Commenting on Bentley Molesley said: “He will be back soon and that almost gives us like an embarrassment of riches up top so competition for places will be fierce and as a manager that is what I want.

“I want everyone fighting for that shirt and I think they certainly showed that (against Harrow) with their fighting spirit.”
