WEYMOUTH captain Harry Mitchell feels the Seasiders’ clash with County Division Two leaders Marnhull at Redlands tomorrow (1.30pm) will “define” their season.

Mitchell’s men, who sit third, trail the pacesetters by 18 points ahead of the clash, with Wimborne & Colehill Seconds perched in second 13 points off top spot.

And Mitchell has a healthy respect for the north Dorset side, who have won each of their last five games in convincing fashion.

He told Echosport: “This will define our season. If they win, they go up, then it’s down to the last two. We need to win to stand any chance of going up.

“They’ve got (James) Vitali who’s different class and they bowl a good line and don’t give away many extras, so we’re not going to get anything for free.“They’ve got a couple of wicket-takers but if we can build a platform hopefully we can make a 200-plus score.”

He added: “We haven’t lost a game at home this season. Hopefully we can take that into the game. We’ve got to go back to basics, try and win – we have to be on it.”

Seasiders’ duo Paul Collins and Paul Webb miss out, with Jonny Armfield and Dave Blackman returning.
