PORTLAND Red Triangle’s Matt Randell is confident ahead of tomorrow’s County Division One clash against Cattistock at Reforne (1.30pm).

His side are currently embroiled in a battle against relegation and currently sit mid-table just 13 points above Parley Seconds who occupy the last relegation spot.

Randell said: “I am pretty confident. You have got to be confident going into every game.

“We beat Cattistock up at their place and that was a really tight game and I am probably expecting another tight game, they have got some really good players. I reckon if we beat them at their place it gives us a little bit of an edge to then go on and beat them at our place as well.”

Cattistock have recently had Jon Legg called up to play for Dorset in their Unicorns Championship clash against Shropshire and took six wickets in one innings despite Dorset’s eventual defeat.

When asked if his squad have been looking at the table, Randell said: “No one has really looked at it at all apart from me really.

“We are quite close to that relegation zone and they have not paid much attention to it which I think is quite good.

“It means that we go into each game with a fresh mind and we have not got that at the back of our mind throughout the whole of the game.”
