PORTLAND Red Triangle captain Matt Randell revealed “group chat” bragging rights will be at stake when Cerne Valley visit Reforne in County Division One action tomorrow (1.30pm).
Randell and team-mate Simon Proffitt play alongside in-form Cerne all-rounder Jamie Barrett for evening league champions St George’s and revealed the two sides have a healthy rivalry.
He told Echosport: “It’s always a big game, we’ve had some really good games against them – they’ve never been easy to predict.
“They’ve beaten us at their place and we’ve beaten them at our place. Hopefully we come off and it’s another win, I’m feeling pretty confident.
“We get on really well with the players from Cerne. Me and Si play with Jamie for St George’s and we have a good laugh.
“It’s always nice to beat a rival team. All of the rivalry is on the pitch, it’s just to have bragging rights. I can put it on the group chat to Jamie if we beat them. It should be a great game and I’m looking forward to it.”
Matt Barrett is the sole Triangle player missing for the encounter, while second-team skipper Joe Adkins, Cameron Midgley and Matt Gomm are in contention to replace him.
