DORCHESTER captain James Dunham admits a poor final two Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League games would be a “misjustice” to his side’s season.
Dunham’s troops visit Broadstone tomorrow (1pm) at Delph Woods looking to avoid a second defeat to the east Dorset side after their outstanding 10-wicket win at the Rec in June.
Although a remote chance, Dorchester can still mathematically win the league but must take 40 points in their final two fixtures and hope leaders Wimborne only earn two.
Dunham told Echosport: “I don’t think we’re looking to finish top of the league, it’s very unlikely. We still want to win both our remaining games.
“It would be a misjustice to the season if we start tailing off now. We’ll be looking to get 40 points from the last two games.
“The Delph is a funny ground, it has very small boundaries – it’s a different setting. We’ve been playing there for years and we know what we’re going to.
“Broadstone are a good side and it should be a good game. Everyone still wants to finish as high as we can so the mood in the camp is still really good.”
Dorchester make three changes, with Dan Morris, James Caldwell and Jack Owens missing out. Dan Belt, George Foot and an as yet undecided player replace them.
Dorchester Seconds have a bye weekend following the folding from County Division Three of Sturminster Marshall.
