BALTI Sports emerged victorious in a fantastic game thanks to a brace from Danny Andrews and a final winning goal courtesy of Ricky Lane against Parley Sports in the Dorset Premier League.

In a game that saw Balti twice go ahead, only to be pegged back before a late winning goal. Even then, Parley were only denied a draw by a superb late save from Balti goalkeeper Andy Nott.

Balti started well and went 1-0 up through Andrews after he got into the box and scuffed a left-footed shot into the far corner after 20 minutes.

However, Parley struck back 10 minutes later when Balti defender Josh Burton headed into his own net after a Parley free-kick.

There was more drama to come in the first half however, as Balti responded well to the unfortunate setback.

Their response did not have to wait long to yield results however, as five minutes after the equaliser Andrews got into the box, saw a shot saved but from the rebound he headed in from point-blank range to hand Balti a lead at half-time.

Balti were handed an early reminder of their opponents’ threat in the second half, with Nott making a good save early on.

Parley got their second equaliser in the 70th minute when a good through ball from Matt Newbury allowed Jack Voisey to fire a fine shot across goal and into the net.

However, 10 minutes later Balti again managed to respond when Lane headed in a Ryan Dovell cross to hand Balti all three points.

However there was one final turn as Parley pushed forward to find a winning goal and put good pressure on Balti with corners and free-kicks.

A shot flew in from inside the box late on that prompted Andy Nott into a fantastic save that allowed Balti to hold on.

After the match, Balti Sports’ manager Marco Nott told Echosport: “It was a really good game in general. Both sides played good football and there was quite a fast tempo to it. It was one of the best games I have been involved in for a long time really, it was just a good old battle.

“It could have gone either way to be honest so it was just lucky that we have come out on top. I don’t want to say it was deserved, it could have been a draw it was that sort of game really.”

Balti face Portland United Reserves at home tomorrow (6.30pm).
