INJURY-HIT Bere Regis captain Rich Cole is “cautious” about his side’s chances of victory against title-chasing Poole Town in their final Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League clash at Bere Regis Rec tomorrow (1pm).
Cole is carrying a knee injury, while brother Rob has sustained a shoulder problem, adding to a list of niggles amongst the squad, leaving the Bere skipper to proclaim that expectations have been lowered.
He told Echosport: “It would be nice to finish on a high but at the same time I’m just cautious with our availability.
“Our expectations aren’t as high. We’re aware that Poole have got a quality outfit. We saw how good they can play when they played at theirs.
“It would be nice to put in a good performance while people are watching. You’re asking for those who’re playing to perform to their best.
“Provided we bring our A game I’m sure we can challenge anyone in the league. I would like to even up the wins and losses – it would be a good achievement.”
Dean Rogerson and Elliot Woodhouse miss out for Mike Cole and, at the time of writing, an unnamed player.
Bere Regis: Payne, M King, Murphy, Rich Cole, G King, Keegan, Rob Cole, Goodhew, Griffiths, M Cole, AN Other
