DORCHESTER Town’s Tiago Sa admitted all he wants to do is play football after he starred in the Magpies’ 2-1 win against Hartley Wintney in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.

Sa joined the Magpies on a one-month loan deal less than 24 hours prior to kick-off and played 90 minutes as Dorchester came from a goal down to take all three points on Saturday.

Sa admitted it was good to get a win under his belt so soon into his loan spell, speaking after the match, some 19 hours after his move was announced.

When asked if it was a good feeling, Sa said: “100 per cent, coming in on my debut and the team performed well. Even getting a win against a team that is up at the top of the table.

“So for us it is all good and for me 90 minutes, all I want to do is play football so me coming here it is what I want to do really.”

“Any game that you come from behind to win is always a great feeling.”

Sa slotted in well to the Magpies’ defence and proved adept in getting forward, causing Wintney problems early on.

Sa said: “For me, in my first game here and in my first game with these lads, so for us to come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 was a great feeling.

“I know most of these lads, I have played with most of them before and most of them I have played against when I was younger so it is just good to play with them again.”

Sa emphasised his desire to get minutes under his belt and get games, before praising parent club Weymouth’s current form.

Sa said: “For me, it was just Weymouth were doing really well so it was all about coming on loan, getting some minutes under my belt and just to play games in this league.”

Dorchester boss Steve Thompson praised Sa and admitted that once he knew he was available he jumped at the chance to sign him on loan.

Thompson said: “ I thought he had a very, very good debut. I am very pleased with him.

“He is a good player, I have seen him play once or twice for Weymouth and when I heard that he was available I jumped at it straight away to take him.”

When asked how the move came about Thompson explained: “I became aware that he was available.

“They want him playing games because they do not want players not getting match time and T (Tiago) has not had a lot of match time for them obviously so far.

“It was a great opportunity for him to get match time and for us to get a good player in on loan.”
