HOLT UNITED 2

BALTI SPORTS 3

BALTI continued their good run of form with their first win at Holt thanks to a late winner from Ryan Dovell in the Dorset Premier League.

Goals from Charlie Kenderdine and Dovell for Balti as well as a brace from Nathan Saxby had the match finely poised at 2-2 before Dovell’s late winner elevated Balti to eighth in the table.

Balti opened the scoring after 30 minutes through Kenderdine with a 25-yard free-kick that went into the bottom right-hand corner.

Holt looked dangerous on the counter attack and this eventually came through for them.

With five minutes remaining in the first half Saxby got his first when he got on the end of a long ball over the top from Dom Falco to round Andy Nott in the Balti goal and fire in.

Saxby went close in similar circumstances before half-time but this time could not ripple the net.

The two teams went in level at the break.

In the second half, Holt came out firing and soon levelled.

Saxby got his second when he again rounded Nott and slotted home to hand the lead to Holt five minutes into the second half.

However, Balti levelled when Dovell produced a similar effort to Kenderdine’s goal, slotting in a 25-yard free-kick into the bottom corner.

Dovell then ran straight through the Holt side to slam home with 45 seconds to go to send his side into sheer elation and claim the desired three points.

The match had been an even affair but Dovell’s superb late effort proved the difference as Holt failed to craft an equaliser in the dying moments of the match.

Balti Sports boss Marco Nott, said: “It was incredible.

“It was a great performance really, it was the performance of the season so far for us.

“It was very pleasing. No one in the whole squad has ever won at Holt so to go there and get the result we wanted was unbelievable.

“The way we won it, we were 2-1 down in the second half and we stuck at the task really, really well.

“The energy in the team at the moment is unbelievable, we put a lot of teams under pressure with our persistence.”

Balti are next in action when they host Merley Cobham Sports on Saturday (3pm).
