WEYMOUTH saw a large turnout for the annual hockey club day, with over 60 members turning up to play volleyball, ultimate frisbee, boccia and hockey.

Weymouth also held their junior presentation during the afternoon.

Player of the year in the under-14 category went to Toby Gould, while runners-up were Erin Phillips and Izzy Hopps.

Joe Gould was the under-12 boys’ winner and runner-up was Sam Monteith. In the under-12 girls, the winner was Katy Stone, while runner-up was Megan Ellis.

The under-10 boys’ award went to Oliver Dencher with James Smith the runner-up.

Most improved player of the year in the under-14s went to Amelie Comben-Lindsey, with Olivia Horn the runner-up.

In the under-12 boys’ age group, the same award went to Isaac Martin with Sam Senior the runner-up.

Under-12 girls’ winner was Genevieve Lane ahead of runner-up Daisy Flux, while in the under-10 boys’ Aaron Humphreys was the winner, while runner-up was Ollie Clarke.

The new hockey season has started and new members are more than welcome. Players will need trainers, sportswear and shin pads, but sticks can be provided.
