WEYMOUTH Boxing Club are set to hold a dinner and boxing night at Weymouth Pavilion to raise funds for a new headquarters.

Thirteen bouts are on the bill with fighters from Portland, Poole, Blandford, Dorchester, Sturminster Newton, Ferndown, Christchurch, Yeovil, Portsmouth, Devizes, Brighton and Portsmouth.

Head coach of 16 years, Mark Ford, said: “We’re looking at up to 13 bouts, juniors and seniors and it’s pretty open on the night, both male and female boxers.

“We’re hoping to get two to three Weymouth boxers on and raise as much money as we can. The money will be going to running of the club and building a new HQ.”

With funds set to be raised for the new build, Weymouth do not have a precise target in mind as yet.

The club opens its doors three times a week from 6.30 to 8pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and always welcome new members, or those looking to improve their fitness, while supporting anti-bullying.

Due to be held on Saturday, December 1, the show, which include a three-course meal costs £40 beginning at 6.30pm for a 7pm sit down, while tickets are priced at £15 on the door. Alternatively, contact Jason (01305 812016), Tris (01305 778284) or David (01305 812748) or visit weymouthabc.co.uk for details.

The club passed their thanks on to Phil Say at Weymouth Pavilion for facilitating the evening.
