WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley believes the newly re-signed Calvin Brooks is yet to hit his prime after the defender made his Terras’ return as a substitute in the 4-1 win at Staines Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South at the weekend.

Brooks was with the club from 2014 to May this year, when he left to join the British Army until rejoining for Weymouth one week ago.

Molesley said: We are delighted to get Calvin back, a player we know well and a player that will fit in the group, know how we work.

“A player I think (who) is still yet to hit his prime, I think the best is still to come from Calvin.”

Brooks scored nine goals for the Terras last season, including a purple patch of notching four goals in three games in March.

Molesley said: “Like I said he is no stranger to us.

“We know how he works, he knows how we work and he has come in at the right time because we are getting a bit unfortunate with a few injuries at the moment so he has come in and strengthened at a time that we needed it.

“So we are delighted to have him on board.”

Brooks replaced Jordan Ngalo in the 69th minute and saw out the rest of the game as Weymouth extended their lead once more and ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

The right-back also started the 2-0 City Security Services League Challenge Cup loss at Wimborne in midweek.
