A GREAT team effort from Bob Shepherd, David Binns and Graham Pickard saw them notch 84 points to top the leaderboard at Lyme Regis Golf Club men’s three-ball betterball contest.

In second place with a commendable 80 points was Samuel Beviss accompanied by father Peter, and Bob Taylor to take to the podium with another all-round team performance.

The midweek Stableford saw Brian Collis win with 38 points.

It was a delight to see nine 80+-year-olds take the field for the Octogenarians’ Trophy.

There were some excellent scores as four of the field scored 36 points or more, David Hadwin came in with what looked like a trophy winning score as he piled up 39 points after a good solid front nine.

However, David Hickman produced a magic score of 41 for victory.
