LYME REGIS 5
UPOTTERY 3
SAM Pollard-Jones helped fire Lyme Regis to a 5-3 victory over Upottery in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter League.
The result moves the Seasiders up to sixth in the table but they did it the hard way, with Robbie Fowler coming in as a late replacement for the injured Will Meech.
Kingsley Wellman headed in after good work from a Robbie Fellingham corner after eight minutes to hand the Seasiders an early lead.
Fellingham then turned finisher from provider to double the home side’s lead from the penalty spot, after Pollard-Jones was fouled after 27 minutes.
However, Upottery struck back 10 minutes later to narrow the gap.
Shortly before half-time Pollard-Jones grabbed his first of the match after rounding the Upottery goalkeeper and slotting in.
After the break, however, Upottery struck back again early on, when they fired in to narrow the scores.
Pollard-Jones was then set up by Cody Bowditch as he confidently secured his brace.
In the 68th minute, Upottery once again narrowed the scores when they headed in from a corner.
However, after 82 minutes, Pollard-Jones cemented his hat-trick and the victory when he cut inside and fired in for the victory.
