BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker is “expecting a reaction” from the Bees ahead of their Toolstation Western League Premier Division contest with Hengrove Athletic at St Mary’s Field tomorrow (3pm).

Fricker’s comment was made in relation to the 6-0 drubbing handed out to Bridport by Falmouth Town last time out.

Speaking to Echosport, Fricker made clear his desire to eradicate the memory of that result by picking up three points, with the Bees languishing in 18th following a spell of one win from six games.

He said: “We need to see a response from that because Saturday wasn’t acceptable. We came up against a good team, there’s no hiding that, but we weren’t at the races and we’re victims of our own downfall.

“We’ll certainly be expecting a reaction. I know the lads are looking to get back.

“It’s a shame we didn’t have a midweek game – you just want to bounce back straight away. Hopefully we can put things right and then Saturday’s forgotten.”

Fricker added that he will avoid complacency against Athletic, who occupy 19th place, due to Bridport’s own patchy results.

He said: “We’re not in any great form. We certainly won’t be taking anything for granted.

“I think the biggest thing is that if we take Saturday aside, which was not acceptable and the lads know that, the performances have been very good.

“We need a little confidence back, but we’re confident that we should be picking up points. But then, we’ve identified that for the last couple of weeks. We just need to stay focused and do the right thing.”

Andy Martin begins a three-game ban, Kameron Andrews is unavailable and Chris McGrath (hamstring) is likely to be rested. Louis Rutter (knee) and Matt Condliffe (eye) return to the squad.
