Dorset Senior League Allendale 1 Easton United 1 Easton lost their 100 per cent start to the season but remain on top of the Dorset Senior League table.

From the off the in-form islanders took the game to the home team and it looked only a matter of time before a goal would come.

Despite numerous chances and the lion's share of possession though, it was Allendale who seized the lead on 15 minutes in what turned out to be their last meaningful attack of the game.

Shortly after the breakthough the Allendale keeper had to leave the field through injury and with no substitute keeper their centre forward was pressed into action between the posts.

The emphasis for the home side was now to protect the goal at all costs and the shape of the team was set up accordingly.

Easton pressed and created a host of chances only to be thwarted time and again by a steadfast Allendale rearguard who managed to hold out for an hour until Bryn Lewis scrambled the ball over the line for a hard earned point.

Easton manager Chris Wilson said: "The lads are disappointed at not taking three points, but you get these sort of matches over the course of a season and if one team decides to defend a lead and not to commit players forward it makes life very difficult."
