BLACK Dog manager Alan Heseltine says his side will be going into the unknown tomorrow when they embark on their first ever FA Carlsberg Cup campaign at Torpoint in Devon.

The Weymouth side face Lakeside Athletic in a preliminary round tie (1pm).

Available and eligible for selection will be Hamworthy United striker Carl Mutch who replaces missing front-runner Richard Ozedebe in the travelling party while Phil Lee and Chris Lye also miss out through work commitments.

Defender Dave Wallis (calf strain) is the only player whose injury prevents his inclusion in a tie that Heseltine would love to get through, not least because it would set up a first round tie away at Hamworthy United - early leaders of the Dorset Sunday League.

"We are the first team for many years from the area to compete in this elite competition and so we would love to carry the torch for the Domino's League for as far as possible.

"We will probably start cautiously with five across midfield for the first 20 minutes just so we can see what we are up against then adjust accordingly.

"Whatever happens we will give this new challenge our best shot," said the boss.

Landlord Ian Tibble will be offering his full support, not only by driving one of two minibuses, but by supplying a brand new change strip (blue/yellow) to mark the occasion.

Meanwhile back in the resort the Belvedere remain positive and are looking to bounce back from last week's shock defeat at the hands of the Cork & Bottle as they face tricky opposition again in the form of the Tuatara Bar at the Marsh in their third Domino's Premiership outing (10.30am).

Boss Bobby Darch said: "Last week was a one-off and I can't ever remember us putting in such an inept defensive performance and I'm still not sure how it happened - but I know we will react positively and learn from the mistakes we made."

The Belve can take heart from their form at the other end of the park as they have been creating chances aplenty and finding the net regularly while they can now finally boast a virtually full squad to choose from for this one.

Indeed the only players who will definitely miss out are injured trio Ali McGivney, Leighton Hanson and Omar Djeebet.

And if the big man feels he has problems then he should consider luckless John Willshire's fortunes so far this term in the Championship.

His Chapelhay outfit have made a sorry start shipping 17 goals without reply in their first two games and it could get even worse tomorrow as the Taverners do battle with Southill at the Marsh (10.30am).

Although Willshire and Andy Martin return to the squad there are big doubts hanging over injured players McDermott (ankle), Luque (finger), Hunter (ribs), Murphy (hamstring), Impson (back) and Doyle (calf) while Marc Dalley is suspended.

Other games tomorrow (all 10.30 am): Premiership: Alex v George (Budmouth), Britannia v Kingswood (Piggery), New Inn v Cork & Bottle (Portcrete), Spa v Royal Oak (Redlands).

Championship: Albert v Wellworthy's (Redlands), Duke of Albany v Finns (Marsh), George v Queens (Grove), Golden Lion v Clean Connections (Redlands), Lugger v Market House (Budmouth).
