ANOTHER successful season saw two members this year represent West Dorset Swimming Club at the Summer Nationals held in Sheffield.

Henry Wyrill qualified for the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke.

He had a fantastic swim in both the 50m and 100m backstroke achieving two personal bests (pbs) and made the finals where he finished sixth and eighth respectively.

In the finals, he was even faster than the heats and earned another two pbs.

This was George Green’s debut at Summer Nationals, qualifying for the 200m backstroke.

He had a great swim and reached the final of the 200m backstroke after pushing well in his heat.

Green finished 10th in the final.

The duo have worked hard all season and their commitment to training has really paid off.

The West Dorset pair were competing against the top swimmers in England and considering the training time and facilities available to them this is a great achievement.

West Dorset Swimming Club has been running for more than 25 years taking swimmers from a young age on a journey from novice swimmer through to competitive athlete developing them to reach their potential whilst offering exposure to other sporting disciplines that are closely linked with swimming.

The club trains primarily at the 1610 Sports Centre in Dorchester with extra training sessions taking place at Millfield School on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.

All potential swimmers will be invited to attend a trial session to determine which squad they may be best suited to, if you are interested in joining the club, visit the website or contact via Facebook or alternately email membership.swimwestdorset@gmail.com
