BALTI Sports’ boss Marco Nott will call on inside knowledge for his side’s Dorset Senior Trophy second round tie at Wimborne Town Development tomorrow (1.30pm).

Ryan Dovell and Simon Proffitt last season played against the Magpies for Dorchester Town Reserves and Nott knows little else about the Cuthbury club.

He told Echosport: “I guess they’re going to be a young side with it being a reserve team. Wimborne are going quite well in (Southern Premier South). I’m sure they’ll have some good players.

“They beat Poole Town Reserves in the last round, so it’ll be a tough game, for sure, especially up there and with the 1.30pm kick-off.”

Should Balti win, they will host Sherborne Town Reserves in the quarter-finals on Saturday, December 1 and Nott feels a cup run is of the utmost importance.

He said: “It’s really important to us, we’re overdue a good run in that cup. We always get ourselves knocked out, we lost to Westland Reserves last year.

“We’re really keen on getting a run in this cup. Every month we seem to have a cup game so it’s something to look forward to and it’s a welcome distraction from the league.”

Carl McClements and Ricky Lane are unavailable, while Matt Roberts (hamstring) misses out. Josh Burton (ankle) is a doubt but Charlie Kenderdine comes in and Scott Walker could return after a stint with the Marines.
