MARK Molesley says games against teams like St Albans City are ones they want as the Terras look to oust the National League South side at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow in the FA Trophy third qualifying round (3pm).

The two sides are old enemies stemming from a National League South title clash in 2006 which saw a stupendous 3-2 win for the Terras in front of 5,000 fans – a victory that still lives long in the memory.

Molesley said: “I think we are in for an exciting game. We are in the FA Trophy against a good National League South side – they are the games we want.”

Molesley says his side have ‘nothing to lose’ against the Hertfordshire-based side, but the Terras can go into the match on a high, following their 2-1 win over Salisbury on Tuesday evening which put them back at the top of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.

Meanwhile, St Albans City are winless in their last four league matches, having picked up a solitary point in that run.

Molesley said: “We want to pit ourselves against the best and they are certainly a good outfit and it will be a great test for us but one we can go into full of confidence and with nothing to lose.

“They have been in the National League South for quite a while now, always at the higher reaches of it, they always have play-off aspirations and a good side.

“They have a good catchment area, they always attract good players so it is shaping up for a good game for us.”

Reflecting upon that 2-1 win against Salisbury, which saw Ben Thomson grab an 87th minute winner in front of a good crowd of 1,006 people, Molesley hopes that spectators can come out and watch his side again.

Molesley said: “Tuesday night under the lights with a crowd like that, I think the players responded to that atmosphere and I hope they come out and watch us again.”

Jordan Seabright will be assessed following his injury against Salisbury, while Ashley Wells is nearing a return for the Terras, although the Saints clash arrives too soon.
