PADDY Behan insists there are no easy games in the Toolstation Western Premier Division, as Bridport prepare to face bottom-of-the-table Shortwood United tomorrow (3pm).

Shortwood are in a terrible run of form in the league this year, and are without even a point as they have lost all 14 league games this year, with a goal-difference of minus 47.

The nadir of their season came in the Gloucester Challenge Trophy, where they were smashed 9-0 by Cribbs and the Woods have conceded six goals or more on four other occasions in all competitions this season.

Behan said: “They are the bottom-of-the-table side and have not picked up a point so far this season, however, over the last five or six weeks it seems like they have tightened up a little bit.

“I think they are primarily a young side and playing young lads at this level, it takes them a few months to adjust and get used to what they are playing and I think you can tell that by their results, I don’t think they are getting hit for as many as they were at the start of the season.”

Bridport meanwhile, are two places above the Woods, with 16 points from 12 games.

They have lost three of their last four matches in all competitions but could rise to eighth should they win their games in hand.

“We have got to do what we do in every single game, there isn’t an easy game at the top or the bottom of the league.”

“We are testament to that, I think we are in 18th, because that is what our points fall at but I bet if Bridgwater were coming to us on Saturday they would not fancy it because they know exactly what we are capable of.

“I think any side on their day can do what they need to do.

Behan agreed when put to him that the longer the season goes on the less appealing the prospect of playing Shortwood becomes, due to the sheer probability of them eventually winning a game and taking points becomes, agreeing ‘that could happen on Saturday.’

“Shortwood at some point will win a game, they will not go the entire season I am sure of that.”

James Regan could return to the squad, but Behan expects the squad to be very similar to that which started against Wellington last night, while Louis Rutter is set to serve the final game of a suspension.
