MARK Molesley spoke of his pride as he saw his Terras’ side beat higher league opposition St Albans City 2-0 in their FA Trophy third round replay.
Goals from Ben Thomson and Ryan Glover sealed the cup upset for Weymouth, who had to defend for large spells of the game to secure their win.
Thomson struck first in the 12th minute, yet Glover’s first goal for the club in the 88th minute wrapped up the victory for the Terras.
Molesley said: “It was really resolute away from home, a clean sheet against a team in the league above.
“They (St Albans) are three points outside the play-offs in the league above, so to nearly get the win on Saturday and then follow it up I am really pleased with the boys.
“They dug deep. I am really proud of them.”
Molesley admitted his side had to change a couple of things throughout but was pleased with how his side reacted.
Molesley said: “We had to change a couple of bits throughout the game and the boys really responded well.
“They executed the game plan well, we got a clean sheet and obviously are into the next round.”
In the next round the Terras will face Evo-Stik Southern Premier Central side Needham Market on Saturday, December 15.
