DORCHESTER’S youth teams are all sporting a bright new sponsor on their kit.

Sunny Days nursery, owned and run by Dave and Joy Scadden and their family, have sponsored the whole of the mini, youth and girls set-up for the next three years.

The family are long-term supporters of Dorchester with Dave playing for many years across the senior teams in the county town, and also playing his part off the pitch as chairman of the junior section.

Luc Scadden continues in the family tradition playing for Dorchester having come through the junior section before his senior rugby.

Sunny Days was started by Dave and Joy in 1995 and continues to provide childcare from pre-school upwards.

With nurseries in both Dorchester and Bridport, they involve themselves in the community and are proud to support the young generation of new players at Dorchester Rugby Club.

Dave, Joy, Luc and Aimee Scadden were all pleased to present some of the mini section with their new shirts on Sunday at Coburg Road.

Dave and Joy both said how pleased they were to be able to support the club and its junior section and looked forward to seeing the players progress.

Dave said: “It is fantastic to put something back into the community and give all these young rugby players a great chance to succeed and learn from the game.

“We all know the core values are teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship and we hold these dear in both business and life.”

Youth section chairman, Theresa Draycott-Lovell said of the new partnership: “We are indebted to Dave, Joy, Luc, Aimee and all the Sunny Days team for their wonderful support.”

“The whole of the junior section of the club now look fantastic in the same shirts across all age groups, we will have many Sunny Days winning in our new kit.”

Dorchester Rugby Club Chairman Nick Hodge summed up the sponsorship by saying “It’s hard to express how grateful the club is to Dave and his family for this wonderful gesture and partnership over the next three years.”
