DORCHESTER Town goalkeeper Nick Hutchings insisted he is “ready” to step in when his services are required at the Clayson Stadium.

Hutchings moved across from Poole Town in December after finding his game time limited at the Black Gold Stadium.

However, Magpies’ gloveman Kingsley Latham has impressed during a six-month loan spell and Dorchester are in advanced talks with his parent club Southampton to extend his stay in Dorset.

Hutchings is unperturbed however, with boss Steve Thompson covering the possibility of an extension to Latham’s loan during talks with the former Dolphins keeper.

Speaking to Echosport, Hutchings said: “I knew that Kingsley was here when I joined and he’s playing really well – he’s a good goalkeeper.

“The gaffer’s just said it’s a situation where he might be here until the end of the season, he might be going back, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, whether he’s here or not.

“I’ve said to the gaffer if he wants me to play, I’m ready.”

Having only been at the club for a matter of weeks, Hutchings spoke highly of the club’s young talent.

He said: “I’m enjoying it, the lads are doing well. There are a lot of young lads in the team and I think with some of the results they’ve got this season it shows they’re capable of doing well.

“Hopefully we can string a few results together and get up the league.”
