DORCHESTER host fifth-placed Corsham at Coburg Road looking to back up last week’s win in Wadworth 6X Southern Counties South action tomorrow (2.30pm).

Dorchester’s A XV welcome East Dorset in Dorset & Wilts Two South (2pm), whilst the Third XV Gladiators entertain Lytchett Minster II XV (1.45pm).

Dorchester currently sit 11th in the Southern Counties South, but this should be a surprisingly well-matched game given both sides’ recent form.

Since the last meeting they have very similar records and Dorchester are starting to hit some form.

Expect both an interesting and hard-fought game with the home team needing the points and to build on recent wins.

If Dorchester are patient, work hard and keep their discipline they could well come out on top after the 80 minutes and start to move away from the bottom of the table.

With a very similar looking side to last weekend’s winning team, Alex Peel is replaced at fly-half by George Foot, as Peel is on county duty this Sunday.

Callum King is unavailable so Richard Deakin steps back into the first team after time out, and Jack Chatfield secures his position on the wing after three solid performances. Chatfield is another club success coming through the junior section.

Following last weekend’s hard-fought and patient win in poor conditions, Rob Parker’s A XV will look to overcome East Dorset who last week fell to a big defeat.

With a pack including Joe Underhill, Alan Gale, Laurence Burch and Lee King along with the quick distribution of Jake Bosher and James McKendry in the backs, this looks to be a fast-paced game in the making.

Parker will expect no less than the full five-point haul from his squad to keep them at the top of the league.

Meanwhile, Dorchester’s Gladiators run out against Lytchett Minster II who they overcame in the reverse fixture back in October.

Tony O’Connell has again pulled together a large squad of youth and experience. With a solid front row of Russ Milford, Pat Nelson and Jamie Ritchie and the strong runs of Nick Lorimer and Syd Hosie the home side will look to challenge Lytchett up front.

If the Gladiators can come away with the bonus point win and their near rivals Poole fall to Swanage & Wareham, it could set up an interesting game between the top two teams in February.

The clubs’ large junior section turn out on Sunday with the U13s and U14s both entertaining Taunton and the U15s welcome Weymouth & Portland. The ever growing and successful girls’ teams will be training.
