TWELVE members of the Ladies’ Sailing Group, from Castle Cove Sailing Club, enjoyed a ski week in St Christoph, Austria.
The snow quality was at its best – more than one metre deep in the valleys and more than three metres deep on the surrounding peaks – after heavy prolonged snowfall in Europe.
Trip organiser, Tony Dobbs, said, “Arrangements went like clockwork. Accommodation and catering were excellent and the skiing was superb.
“The group had a range of skiing experience but there was something for everyone.
“After skiing we were able to use the hotel’s indoor swimming pool and sauna before eating and drinking a little too much, maybe!”
Meanwhile, back at the club on Portland Harbour, winter weekend work parties are busy doing essential winter maintenance and preparing for the coming sailing season.
Prospective new members are urged to come down any Sunday morning for a look around.
