WEYMOUTH Cricket Club have held youth training for the first time since reintroducing their second team to the Dorset Cricket League.

The Seasiders have begun sessions running before the men’s teams participate in nets at Budmouth College’s sports hall.

Weymouth’s future talent train from 2.30-3.30pm and welcome all abilities for soft ball and hard ball games for ages seven to 15.

Recent youngsters to have flourished in men’s cricket include Luke Lovett, who scored 60 to guide Weymouth Seconds to victory at Marnhull last season, and all-rounder Jack Taylor, who played several games for the first team.

Meanwhile, Weymouth’s highly-anticipated clash with Stalbridge in the Clayesmore School DCB Sunday Indoor League has been delayed by a week to March 10 due to exams.

The table-topping Seasiders also face Kilmington & Stourton as they look to win the league with a 100 per cent record.
