SOUTH Dorset Spurs have announced FA Cup winner Paul Allen as the next Tottenham Hotspur star to visit the organisation’s latest legends evening at the Dolphin Hotel on Saturday, March 23 (6.30pm).

Allen is a three-time FA Cup finalist, first beating Arsenal 1-0 when playing for West Ham in 1980 before suffering a 3-2 defeat to Coventry City in 1987.

Aveley-born Allen then came out on top in the 1991 final with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest to secure his second FA Cup winner’s medal.

The 56-year-old played 292 times for Tottenham, scoring 23 goals, and was voted 1992-93 player of the year in his last full season with the White Hart Lane outfit.

Allen will recount tales of his footballing career on a night once more hosted by Phil Beal, himself a 1972 UEFA Cup winner.

Beal presented at the group’s last legends night in December, where David Howells and Paul Miller also attended as a total of £400 was raised for local charities Mosaic and the Brain Tumour Support Group.

Mosaic, a child bereavement charity, will again be beneficiaries for Allen’s night.

Tickets cost £25 and include a two-course meal, raffle and a variety of games.

Those interested in buying tickets for the evening should contact event organiser David Ralph on 07553 243693.
