WEYMOUTH and Portland Cruising Association’s weekly meeting attracted a large audience with a talk from a Cerne Abbas Brewery team who visited the club complete with several samples of their popular locally brewed beer.

Head brewer Vic Irvine put on an entertaining presentation with some historical and nautical content and amusing stories from his time brewing beer.

Of particular interest was the story of the Leggless Jester beer and the association with Sailability, the RYA section for disabled sailors.

Next week’s talk will be from Paul Lees of Crusader Sails when he will discuss modern sail making and technology with tips for improving boat speed, the talk at Castle Cove Sailing Club will start at 8pm and is open to all local sailors.
