YOU already know the Terras' fate is back in their hands after a 2-0 win at Frome Town.

Aidan Williams is on hand to take you through five talking points from the match.

WEYMOUTH CANNOT ENJOY IT

THIS season is mad, and one that is incredibly fun to report on from the press benches, but the Terras should not enjoy this latest twist.

It is back in Weymouth’s hands and I would be amazed if the squad did not crack a smile after seeing Taunton lose 1-0 to Harrow Borough.

The result means Weymouth, should they win their game in hand, can go above Taunton at the top.

It has been a mad season but realistically how many more chances will Weymouth get?

It would be naive to think there will be that many more for the league title. It is a great set of results for Weymouth, but only if they finish the job later on in the season.

CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE

CONSIDER any suggestions of a tough spell to be archaic. It was not pretty against Frome but it did not need to be, two goals were scored and none were conceded.

Weymouth are now on a four-game winning spell and looking back to their best.

Numbers are back for them, a Dorset Senior Cup semi-final awaits and the winning habit feels back to being natural.

There is never a bad time for a winning run, but at this stage of the season it feels a very good time.

GOODSHIP STARS AGAIN

THE aforementioned two goals? One scored by Brandon Goodship, the other assisted by him.

A fine way to celebrate a call-up to the England C squad, and quite remarkably, given he sits on 29 goals with 10 games left, he could break his tally of 38 league goals from last season.

It feels very pedantic to say he deserves his Three Lions call-up, and if he carries on his form so far for Weymouth, he ought to be figuring in England C boss Paul Fairclough’s thoughts on a regular basis.

FUN FINISH AHEAD

THE best match personally of last season was the 1-0 win at home over Slough, my job is very easy when the atmosphere is so electric and in your face as it was that evening.

The prospect of the final run-in is giving me pleasing flashbacks to evenings like those, because it is tight at the top. I do not think anyone really has a firm idea of where the title is going to go at this stage.

Advantage Weymouth yes, but there have been more twists and turns this season than in an average drive past Chichester.

I have no idea, but excitement seems a pretty safe bet at this stage.

SEMI-FINAL RELIEF

IT FEELS odd to suddenly switch focus to a cup semi-final when the league title run-in is such a big, near all consuming, thread but it may do Weymouth some good.

I remember their friendly against the British Virgin Islands last season, a chance for something different and it felt very refreshing.

A cup final is on offer now and while I would be very surprised if it is something more appealing than the league title but it is at least something to allow the gaze to be averted from the league.

It should not be as serious a matter as the league, but that is exactly why it could prove to be so useful.
