WEYMOUTH have had tonight's Dorset Senior Cup semi-final with Poole Town postponed due to adverse weather.

Storm Freya has taken its toll on the Black Gold Stadium pitch, leaving large areas waterlogged.

Heavy, persistent rain is forecast across the south of England from this afternoon into tomorrow and in a statement on the Dolphins' official Twitter account, Poole took the prediction into account.

It read: "Unfortunately following the weather at the weekend there are large amounts of standing water on the pitch and due to tonight’s forecast the decision has been made to call off the Dorset Senior Cup fixture against @theterras this evening."

The fixture has been rearranged for Tuesday, March 12 (7.45pm), meaning the Terras' home Evo-Stik Southern Premier South battle with Met Police will now be rescheduled.
