DORCHESTER will aim to complete a double when they travel to fifth place Grove in Oxfordshire tomorrow in their Wadworth 6X Southern Counties league fixture (2.30pm).

Last time against Grove, Dorchester took a narrow win in a cagey game which saw a player from each side red carded.

This time out Dorchester travel with a strong looking squad, playing good rugby, hungry for a win to move away from the relegation spot and looking to gain their second win on the road this season.

With the squad announced early, head coach Martyn Peel will be looking for a disciplined and controlled game and for his team to build on recent good displays.

Peel names five front row players including Joe Prior and Tom Bamlet. Cameron Wills moves back into the first team squad as does Josh Hosford. With the experience of Dave Gower and Greg Hallett in the pack the scrum looks solid and redoubtable.

The backs have a familiar settled look about them with Alex Peel running play from fly-half, George Foot and James Baker able to cover both centre and wing along with the newly-converted Leo Ansell also available to step out onto the wing.

If the results go in Dorchester’s favour they could end the day with the same number of points as rivals Thatcham and Peel firmly believes his side can come away with points from this game.

Coburg Road sees the A side, ably led by Rob Parker, entertain New Milton Seconds, who sit eight places below them in the Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts Two South league table.

Parker names a strong squad yet again, with Lee King and Charlie Sharpe adding to his powerful pack.

Matt Fry and Jack Ward sit in the back line no doubt keen to get their hands on the ball and run in some tries.

The clubhouse at Coburg Road will be showing all of the Six Nations action live on the screen this weekend, all are welcome to head down and support Dorchester and follow it up with your choice of home nations.

Meanwhile Dorchester’s Gladiators kick the weekend off tonight (7.30pm), welcoming Swanage & Wareham Thirds in Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts Three South action.

The usual blend of experience and youth will turn out and aim to play some entertaining rugby.

On Sunday, the junior section have only one game at home, with the under-15s locking horns with near rivals Bridport.

Dorchester, Weymouth & Portland Combined Ladies take on Basingstoke at Weymouth Rugby Club, kicking off at 3pm.
