MARK Molesley admitted it was a shame to see the very windy conditions after his side drew 0-0 at Wimborne Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.

The match was finely poised, the league’s joint-top goalscorers facing off in a derby, the ingredients for a great match in place, but the wind scuppered any hopes of a brilliant contest.

When asked if it was disappointing to see the conditions be so disruptive to a contest like a Dorset derby, Molesley replied: “It is really disappointing.

“I know Matty and Danny Holmes well and I think they have similar ideas in the way the game is played.

“They have got some really good players, some really exciting players as well and unfortunately the conditions dictated the game a bit too much, we both wanted to try and play a bit but it was so stop-start.

“You kick the ball up in the air it could be turning round and facing your goal or flying at the stand.

“It really was difficult conditions which is a shame.

“It is a shame but like I said both (teams) cannot do anything about the conditions and you had two teams, full-blooded, that gave it their all.”

However, Molesley admitted a draw was a fair end to the match.

He said: “I think a draw in the end was probably a fair result.

“I was probably a little bit aggrieved with the penalty decisions but a draw, on reflection, was a fair result.”

Molesley also discussed the squad’s injuries, and revealed that Ashley Wells played despite being ill.

Molesley said: “We did well because we have had a bit of illness, a few injuries. About a week ago it looked like we had shaken off all of the injuries and illness and then it reared its ugly head again this week unfortunately.

“I have got to give special praise to Wells who was ill and he has come out and played 90 minutes for us, which shows what a fantastic player and character that he is, that he has come out and given it his all.

There was a double boost for the Terras, with Kieron Roberts joining Weymouth, on dual registration with Bashley, while Lewis Harvey making a return after time away from the club.

Harvey is dual-registered with Weymouth and Eastleigh and has also spent time at Lymington Town.

Molesley said: “Lewis we obviously needed the addition to fill the bench so we are delighted that he has come back in.

“Hopefully he will be available for us against Poole to have a look at even further.

“Kieron Roberts has been training with us now for the last month.

“He has had a few minutes at Bashley so we are just trying to get his match fitness up at Bashley but he is signed to us as well.

“We are excited to continue to look at those players and hopefully we will see them against Poole (in the Dorset Senior Cup tomorrow) as well.

“We need strength in depth, we have not been the most fortunate with injuries and illness so we are delighted that we can call on those players.”

Wakefield has had a calf strain, but Molesley hopes it will be only one to two weeks away.

He also added that he hopes Josh McQuoid will be joining them for training, but emphasised being patient with the players.
