NINE swimmers from Weymouth Swimming Club excelled at the recent Dorset County Championships held at the Littledown pool in Bournemouth.

It is the premier swimming event of the year with the county’s top swimmers taking part.

Jamie Gunn won a silver medal in the 100m butterfly, a bronze for 50m butterfly, achieved a south west regional qualifying time, reached the finals of the 100m individual medley, 50m and 100m breaststroke and backstroke events, 100m freestyle and finished sixth in his age group in the 200m individual medley and achieved a personal best in all 10 of his races.

Abigail Sedwards set seven personal best times in reaching six finals, winning a silver medal in 50m backstroke and bronze in 100m butterfly.

Freya Barrington reached the finals of 50m freestyle and butterfly events, achieved a regional consideration time in the 50m breaststroke and also achieved seven personal best times at the championships.

Toby Manning got to the final of the 50m backstroke and set two personal best times at the tournament.

Elena Sedwards achieved five personal bests, Rowan White and Bethany Webb two personal bests and Eddie Goodrick one personal best.
