BALTI Sports’ boss Marco Nott is relishing the challenge posed by Gillingham Town in the race for fourth place in their Dorset Premier League clash at Weymouth College tomorrow (3pm).

Nott’s men lost 2-0 to the Gills in November but have climbed above the Blackmore Vale side to fourth off the back of just two defeats in 11 games.

Nott, who is likely to feature in goal for Balti in the absence of brother Andy, feels home advantage could prove crucial as the Weymouth-based side look to open a six-point gap to Town.

He told Echosport: “We can only get fourth or fifth now so it’s a big game. They beat us at their place and they’re not a bad side.

“They’re probably looking to go up in the next couple of years but we’re flying at home and are quietly confident.

“We beat Ham Rec, Holt and Dorchester Sports at home in recent weeks so we’ll definitely go into the game going for three points – that’s what we’ll do for the rest of the season.

“Gillingham are a good outfit, they’re a solid side. Obviously a couple of years ago they were playing in the Wessex and dropped down to get their pitch up to standard.”

Ricky Lane and Ash Smith join Andy Nott and Simon Proffitt on the sidelines but midfield duo Charlie Kenderdine and Sammy Nichols return.
