Dorset Senior Trophy First Round

BLANDFORD UNITED RESERVES v CHICKERELL UNITED

CHICKERELL will welcome defen-der Graham Biles into their squad for tomorrow's trip to Blandford.

The experienced centre-back has been playing for the reserves in recent weeks to gain match fitness and he will join a team full of confidence after last Saturday's 8-1 vic-tory at Tintinhull in the Dorset Senior League.

Chickerell assistant manager Maurice Welch said: "The changes the DCFA have made this year means we are no longer in the Dorset Senior Cup, which is very disappointing.

"We have played in the Senior Cup for umpteen years and we have always enjoyed it because it gave us the opportunity to play against higher standard teams.

"The cup competition we are in now is the Dorset Senior Trophy and last season our reserves got to the final of it. That has caused a bit of a rivalry within the club so we are keen to at least reach the later stages this year.

"As Blandford's first team have not got a game they could field a strong side but whoever we face we will be looking to put on a similar performance as last week.

"Graham Biles has been doing well for the reserves and is back in the squad but Craig Roper is not ready yet.

"He is back from holiday but has not done much training. We are hoping to have him back in the squad for the following Saturday."
