DORCHESTER Town boss Callum Brooks has called for “discipline and desire” from the Magpies ahead of their Evo-Stik Southern Premier South battle at Hendon tomorrow (3pm).

Brooks’ men are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-1 loss to Beaconsfield Town by rediscovering form that collected 10 points from four games prior to the defeat.

With five games remaining, both sides are well positioned to avoid relegation with 20th-placed Gosport lurking seven points behind Hendon and a further point adrift of the Magpies.

Dorchester will also point towards a superb away record – the division’s third-best – as they look to take a giant leap towards safety with victory on the Greens’ 3G pitch.

Brooks told Echosport: “I’m looking for a real discipline and desire to go to Hendon and follow a structured gameplan.

“On reflection I felt we were a little too open on Saturday, so I’ll be looking to play with a bit more balance and control.

“The main point I’m looking for is to put in a disciplined performance which represents the need for us to pick up a result there.

“I don’t feel we’re quite there yet with regards to safety, but I do feel with one more win we’ll practically guarantee our safety in the division. That doubled with the fact that (Hendon) are just on our coat-tails I think is a huge incentive.

“Over the last five games my players have proved that they’re up for these types of games by the results they’ve picked up.”

Brooks expects no changes to the 16-man squad named for the Beaconsfield match, With Ross Carmichael (knee) expected to miss out, but Luke Winsper (ankle) is nearing a return.

Brooks said: “Winnie is edging closer now but obviously we’re still without Ross.

“(Carmichael) has been in cycling. He’s done a full session with the physio (Emma Tonkin) but it’s quite hard to tell.

“We’re hopeful to get him back by the end of this season, but it’ll be nip and tuck, it’s not going to be a week.”
