CRAWLEY Town will be extremely revved up when they take to the field at the Wessex Stadium tonight according to Weymouth boss Jason Tindall whose side will be bidding to extend their unbeaten run to four games (7.45pm).

The Red Devils lost their appeal to overturn a six-point deduction for a breach of financial regulations on Wednesday causing them to plummet from eighth to 16th in the Blue Square Premier table.

Their loss has been Weymouth's gain and the Terras will be full of confidence going into the encounter. Not only has Tindall's men claimed seven points from their last three outings but Town's punishment has also seen them move up one place to 14th.

Tindall said: "I am sure Crawley will have a lot of anger inside them having worked so hard to get to where they were but they have been deducted the points for a reason. You do not suffer that sort of punishment unless you have done something wrong so they have to take that on the chin.

"I am sure they will be looking to bounce straight back from that negative with a victory but we are not too concerned about what they are thinking, we are just concentrating on ourselves.

"We know why we have been getting the results we have got in our last three games and we need to carry on performing the same for the rest of the season. If we do that then hopefully we will get some success at the end of it."

The reason why Weymouth are not higher in the table at present is that they have been conceding too many goals but clean sheets in their last two games is clear evidence that they are beginning to put an end to that problem.

Terras' centre-back Ashley Vickers, who has taken over the captain's armband in the absence of the injured Simon Weatherstone, said: "Defenders like to look at the goals against column and take pride in teams not being able to score against them. Previously it was frustrating to look at but in the last two games we have kept two clean sheets and defended well.

"The problems we were having were not just defensive in terms of the back four. We were conceding goals from set plays but we have now changed a few things and so far it has been working well."

As for tonight's opponents, Vickers added: "I know their manager Steve Evans from his Boston United days and he is a winner.

"They will play a certain way and be physical, and we will have to match that. If we can do that in the opening exchanges hopefully we will then start finding space to play.

"Continuing the run we are on at the moment is everything. The boys were buzzing after the game at Grays Athletic on Tuesday and we want to carry that on not just tonight but for the rest of the season."

Weatherstone, Marcus Browning, Kyle Critchell and Sido Jombarti are the only four players who are unavailable for selection for the Terras.

Tindall said: "The last thing we want to do is rush those four into returning too quickly and risk losing them for longer so we are just going to be sensible with them.

"Trevor Challis and Danny Phillips both came through 90 minutes in our friendly at Portland on Wednesday when Stuart Beavon and Stuart Douglas also looked sharp so we are slowly getting everyone out of the treatment room and pushing for places.

"And I think that is making a difference for us because the lads in the side know if they don't perform then there are others waiting in the wings for their chance."
